UJI TOKSISITAS MENGGUNAKAN METODE BRINE SHRIMP LETHALITY TEST (BSLT) LC 50 PADA EKSTRAK AKAR, BATANG, DAUN MANGROVE BUTA-BUTA (Excoecaria agallocha L.) DARI PERAIRAN BANYUASIN, SUMATERA SELATAN.
The mangrove Excoecaria agallocha L. known for its benefits and poisons, also contains a white gum that causes irritation to the eyes and skin, which is also used in traditional medicine. Plants, in particular the mangrove, can produce toxic secondary metabolic compounds that are used as early indicators of anticancer pharmaceuticals. E.agallocha is a mangrove with many benefits, one of which is used as a traditional medicine for treating ulcers, but only some of the effects were applied because of minor knowledge. The purpose of this study is to know and analyze the potential toxicity of root extract, stem, E. agallocha, of A. salina. One method used in determining the compound's toxicity is the BSLT (brine shrimp lethality test) using A. salina as a testing animal. The toxicity test results will be known for the value of LC₅₀. Based on toxicity tests in the esktrak mangrove E. agallocha, the roots, stems, and leaves on the E. agallocha are toxic. Based on analysis of extract E. agallocha uses metanol solomons based on the value of LC₅₀ extracted from roots, stems and mangrove evans.agallocha shows a value of 43 μg/mL to extract roots, 42 μg/mL extract of sticks and 108 μg/mL extract of leaves. Analysis has revealed that the mangrove's stems, roots, and leaves have a high toxicity potential medicine.
