PENGARUH JARAK PENYINARAN TERHADAP MICROLEAKAGE PADA RESTORASI KELAS V RESIN KOMPOSIT
Composite resin is a restorative dental material widely used in restorative dentistry because it has good aesthetic. The main disadvantage of composite resin is polymerization shrinkage, it can lead to microleakage. One of factors affecting polymerization shrinkage is irradiation distance. The purpose of this study was to know the effect o f irradiation distance on composite resin microleakage. Total samples were 30 teeth of upper first premolar which is prepared and restored by microhybrid composite resin. Ali teeth were divided into 3 groups according to irradiation distance: group I (0 mm), group II (3 mm), and group III (6 mm). Samples were cut vertically and taken the picture on their both sides. The pictures were measured on both sides using Microsoft Word. Measurement of microleakage was based upon the deepest penetral ion ofbasic fuschin 0.5% in restoration margin. The microleakage mean for group I, group II, and group III consecutively was 0779 mm, 0.221 mm, and 0.131 mm. Data were analyzed by One Way ANOVA and Post - Hoc LSD. The result of One Way Ahova showed that ifradiatioh distance affected composite resin microleakage significantly (P0.05). The conclusion of this study was that the highest microleakage of composite resin was irradiation distance at 0 mm compared to the irradiation distance at 3 mm and 6 mm.
