OPTIMASI LIPSTIK CAIR BERBASIS MINYAK BIJI WIJEN (SESAMUM INDICUM L.) DAN UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI TERHADAP STAPHYLOCOCCOS AUREUS
Lipstick is a type of lip color cosmetic that is currently in great demand by consumers. The quality of liquid lipstick is influenced by its constituent components such as oil and wax. Repeated use of liquid lipstick can cause the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum formula (optimization) and to determine the antibacterial activity against S. aureus in liquid lipstick preparations. This study used sesame oil and microcrystaline wax as the basis for liquid lipstick. Sesame seed oil (Sesamum indicum L.) in addition to working as a base, also contains fatty acids which are expected to inhibit the growth of S. aureus bacteria by disc diffusion method. The added microcrystal wax can produce a good texture and adhesion to the preparation. The formula was made using the 22 factorial design method with sesame seed oil and microcrystaline wax factors and to get the optimum formula analyzed by the Design Expert® 13 program based on the parameters of viscosity, spreadability, and adhesion. The results of the analysis of the optimum formula obtained a concentration of 70% sesame seed oil and 5% microcrystaline wax which resulted in a red preparation, vanilla aroma and characteristic of sesame, liquid texture, and had a pH of 5.3. Organoleptic pH, and homogeneity resulted in good quality in the optimum cycling test formula. However, there was a significant difference (P
