Patient’s satisfaction with denture is one of indicator in prosthodontic treatment success and related with many factors, such as fiunctional, comfort, and psychosocial factor. There are different types of removable partial denture (RPD), such as flexible and acrylic RPD. The aim of this study was to compare satisfaction between flexible and acrylic RPD wearers in Kecamatan Ilir Barat and Ilir Timur Palembang. Subjects were selected by purposive sampling method involving 30 patients, 15 who had been treated with flexible RPD and 15 who had been treated with acrylic RPD. AU subjects answered the oral health impact profile-14 (OHIP-14) questionnaire to assess satisfaction. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U-test. Result of the study showed that 15 subjects (100%) of flexible RPD wearer were highly satisfled while in acrylic RPD wearer, 13 subjects (86,67%) were highly satisfled and 2 subjects (14%) were fairly satisfled. Mann-Whitney U test revealed no signiflcant differences in satisfaction between patients with flexible and acrylic RPD (p>0,05). It can be concluded that there was no dijference of satisfaction level between group of flexible and acrylic RPD wearer in Kecamatan Ilir Barat and Ilir Timur Palembang.
