PREVALENSI DAN GAMBARAN HISTOPATOLOGI MOLA HIDATIDOSA DI LABORATORIUM PATOLOGI ANATOMI FK UNSRI/RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE JANUARI 2008-DESEMBER 2012
Introduction: Gestational trophoblastic disease is a spectrum of condition that has a potential progression of malignancy, with characteristics of proliferation of the trophoblasts. Lesions including hydatidiform mole, invasive mole, choriocarcinoma, and placental site trophoblastic tumor. Hydatidiform mole is an unsuccessful pregnancy with abnormal proliferation of chorionic villi caused by hydropic changes fonning grape-like structures. Incidences in Indonesia are predicted to be higher tlian the westem countries (1:1,000), 1:40. Data obtained in Indonesia are still hospital-based. The purpose of this stndy is to know the prevalence and histopathological review of hydatidiform mole in Department of Pathology FK Unsri/RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Method: This study is an observational descriptive study on 443 medical records of hydatidiform mole patients in Laboratory of Pathology FK Unsri/RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Results: Prevalence of hydatidiform mole in Laboratory of Pathology FK Unsri/RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in 2008—2012 is 1.5%. Complete mole occurs in 412 cases (93.0%), partial mola in 17 cases (3.8%), and invasive mole in 14 cases (3.2%) in five years, with age category 20—29 years with most cases, 202 (45.19%). Conclusion: Prevalence of hydatidiform mole in Laboratory of Pathology FK Unsri/RSUP Dr.Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in 2008—2012 is 1.5% with most cases of complete mole (93.0%).
