PREVALENSI RETINOBLASTOMA DI RSUP Dr. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE JANUARI 2009-DESEMBER 2013
Iatroduction: Retinoblastoma is a malignant intraocular form that is most commonly found in children ages 2-5 years. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of retinoblastoma in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang period January 2009-December 2013. Method: This research was a descriptive observational cross-sectional study during July 2013 to January 2014. The population of this research was eye patients who were hospitalized at RSUP dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in 2009-2013. This research used all of population as the sample. Results: This research shows that there were 26 retinoblastoma cases (0.48%) of 5319 patients. Retinoblastoma was found most in aged under 5 years old many as 21 patients (80.76%). Of the 26 retinoblastoma cases, 24 of them are unilateral (92.3%), 2 bilateral (7.69%). Of the 26 cases there were 28 eyes who experienced retinoblastoma, 21 of them extraocular stage (75%) and 7 intraocular stage (25%), 7 cases with clinical symptoms leukokoria (25%) and 21 with clinical symptoms proptosis (75%). 6 cases were performed enucleation (23%), 7 cases were performed exenteration (23%), 6 cases were performed ekxenteration + chemotherapy (23%) and 8 cases performed chemotherapy (30,67%). Conclusion: Prevalence of retinoblstoma over the Iast 5 years is 0,48%. Retinoblastoma cases are often found in children aged under 5 years old, in one eye (unilateral), extraocular stage, and clinical symptoms of proptosis. The treatment of chemotherapy is more commonly used than exenteration action or enucleation.
