Traveling is one of the most popular forms of recreation for urban communities. Areas that have a different atmosphere and daily activities make visitors feel free from the hectic urban life. The purpose of a tourist trip is usually an area that has a wealth of natural beauty such as the atmosphere of mountains, lakes, and villages. Lake Kerinci, which is a leading tourist attraction in Jambi Province, offers a variety of tourism wealth, ranging from natural tourism, artificial tourism, cultural tourism. When traveling, it is inseparable from the name of staying overnight, so tourists are looking for a comfortable place with the facilities offered. The purpose of this planning and design is to meet the overnight needs of tourists with the facilities offered. Resort cottages are the choice as accommodation to be designed, by responding to the natural beauty of Lake Kerinci. Resorts are not only for overnight stays but also provide recreation and other supporting facilities. The resort applies a contextual concept so that it is able to synergize with the natural surroundings. The Kerinci area which is located in a mountainous area and is prone to earthquakes from Mount Kerinci requires resorts to be adaptive to earthquakes. The application of earthquake-resistant and friendly structures to the existing will be carried out in the design process.
