Raden Fatah State Islamic University (UIN RF) Palembang has a new campus operating in 2021 on Jalan Pangeran Ratu, Jakabaring, Palembang, which is commonly called Campus B. UIN RF Campus B has nine new buildings, namely the Library, Central Administration Office, Laboratory, two buildings of the Faculty of Science and Technology, two buildings of the Faculty of Business and Islamic Economics, the building of the Faculty of Tarbiyah, and the building of the Faculty of Psychology. However, there is no place for student activities other than teaching and learning on this campus. There are 17 Student Activity Units, Intra-Campus Student Organizations, and various events conducted by the academic community on the UIN RF Campus. Therefore, the student activity center becomes necessary to accommodate these activities. This campus is built on swamp land, so the retention pond is one of the elements that must be present on the site. While the average temperature in 2020 is 22.7℃ - 34.3℃, even though the optimal comfortable temperature is 22.8℃ - 25.8℃. The type of window, the shape of the floor plan that is not too complicated, and the right roof are the design focus of this building. The design of the student activity center of UIN RF Campus B Palembang is a space design approach, applying a natural ventilation system and creating a retention pond as a condition for swamp reclamation.
