ELEKTROLISIS AIR MENGGUNAKAN MEMBRANE ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY (MEA) DENGAN KATALIS TiO2/C PADA ARUS DAN PEMUATAN KATALIS BERVARIASI
Test on the electrolysis of water using Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA) with TiO2/C catalyst on current and loading catalyst varied has been done. Electrode is characterized by Cyclic Voltametry (CV) and Electrode Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS). The characterization of electrode using this CV method showed that the biggest value of Electrochemical Surface Area (ECSA) was shown by TiO2/C electrode in 2.5 mg/cm2 loading, which was 252.95 cm2/g and the biggest value of electrical conductivity was shown by TiO2/C electrode in 2.5 mg/cm2 loading, 27.06 S/cm. The best hydrogen producing rate was shown in MEA with TiO2/C electrode in 2.5 mg/cm2 loading with the optimum condition at 3A current, 2.778 mL/s and the slowest hydrogen producing rate was shown in MEA TiO2/C electrode in 1 mg/cm2 loading with the optimum condition at 0.5 A current, 1.356 mL/s. Current and catalyst charge influences the rate of producing hydrogen. The rate increases along with the increase of current used and catalyst loading used in electrode.
