Introduction : Regional anaesthesia is the mostly used technique for caesarean section. One of the most preferred technique is spinal anesthesia because it has some advantages such as rapid administration and onset of anesthesia, the simplicity of technique, and a steady block, but on the other hand it often cause complications including hemodynamic changes, which are increase of heart rate, decrease of mean arterial pressure, decrease of systolic and diastolic blood pressure or we often called it hypotension. Purpose : The purpose of this observation is to describe hemodynamic characteristic of pregnant women with caesarean section using the techniques of spinal anesthesia in operating room of dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang. Method : An observational descriptive study with cross scctional design in pregnant women with caesarean section using spinal anesthesia techniques, from November 12 2011 until November 26* 2011. th Result : The subject of this study who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria is as much as 101 pregnant women. The result showed that there was no significant differences in hemodynamic State of pregnant women, including the average value of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, mean arterial pressure, and heart rate before administration of spinal anesthesia, during administration of spinal anesthesia, and after administration of spinal anesthesia. Discussion : From the result of this study it can be concluded that there significant hemodynamic changes of systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, mean arterial pressure, and heart rate of pregnant women with caesarean section using spinal anesthesia techniques fforn January 2011 to June 2011.
