ISOLASI SENYAWA ANTRAKUINON DARI EKSTRAK n-HEKSANA KULIT BATANG BERIANG (Ploiarium alternifolium)
Beriang plant (P. alternifolium) is one of species of the Theaceae family. This study aims to isolate and identify secondary metabolites contained in the n-hexane extract of the bark of Beriang (P. alternafolium) growing in Indralaya, South Sumatra. The secondary metabolite compound purification process was carried out by extracting 1.5 kg dry sample of P. alternifolium bark with n-hexane solvent. After being evaporated, and extract was obtained as 0,82 gram of extract. Purification and separation was continued by using the Flash Column Chromatography (FCC) method. One compound has been isolated in the form of an orange colored solid of 0.008 gram (yield 0,01%). The purity test was carried out by thin layer chromatography (TLC) with three eluent mixtures, namely n-hexane: acetone (99%: 1%), n-hexane: ethyl acetate (98%: 2%) and n-hexane: chloroform (70%: 30%), each of chromatogram resulted in one spot with Rf values successively 0.075; 0.42 and 0.70. The isolated compounds were analyzed using UV, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and 2D-NMR spectroscopy. Based on spectroscopy data can be suggested the isolate compound is an emodin type anthraquinone which substituted with geranyl group which formed a ring with OH at the C-3 position. This compound has been previously reported from the same spesies under the name Ploiariquinone A
