The purpose of the study were : 1). To describe the role of agricultural extension field worker (PPL) in the independence of lebak paddy farmers group, 2). To measure independence of lebak paddy farmers group, 3). To analyze the correlation between the role of PPL and the independence of lebak paddy farmers groups at Sakatiga seberang Village, District Ogan Ilir. The research was conducted at Sakatiga Seberang Village, District was conducted at Sakatiga Seberang, District Ogan Ilir on June to September 2012. Survey method was used to gather the data from 30 farmers cultivate lebak paddy. The samples was taken by multistage sampling process. The data obtained, tabulated and counted with spearman rank correlation test. Based on the calculation of Spearman rank correlation coefficient test with real level or confidence level of 0,05. Rs count on the results obtained for 0,777, rs while the table is 0,365, which means that the decision rule is reject Ho. This means that there is a positive relationship between the role of agricultural extension field wit independence of lebak paddy farmer group.
