In this study, the main material used is paper that has been used previously or in other words recycled paper waste. Paper recycling is one of the most utilized recycling schemes to apply to waste materials. The manufacture of paper products involves a variety of chemicals that are applied directly to the paper and pulp. The use of paper in this study aims to see the characteristics of nano cellulose contained in waste paper which will then be used as a filler in the manufacture of concrete mixtures. In addition, this study was conducted to examine nanocomposite-based cement mixtures that are environmentally friendly because if cement is used continuously it can pollute the environment, especially air pollution. Paper waste that has been collected will be reprocessed before being processed into a mixture of filler materials in cement. There are two types of synthesis used when processing paper, namely mechanical synthesis using the help of existing tools in the laboratory and chemical synthesis using chemical materials. The heating temperature and heating time are obtained by the methodtrial and error to get the most optimal value. The heating temperature used is 125oC with a heating time of 2 hours with the addition of 10% NaOH concentration. After chemical synthesis of the paper material was carried out, the paper material was then chemically processed with variations in milling of 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 90 minutes. On TestX-Ray Diffraction showed amorphous results based on variations in milling time of 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 90 minutes with a maximum amorphous percentage of 82% with a milling time variation of 60 minutes and a minimum amorphous percentage of 75% with a milling time variation of 30 minutes. When compared with the amorphous percentage of cement material, the amorphous percentage of paper material is superior to the amorphous percentage of cement material. On the other hand, in testingFourier Transform Infra Red Spectroscopy the average sharp peak value for variations in milling time of 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 90 minutes for paper material is in the wavelength range of 1024.12 cm-1 while for the sharp peak value of cement material is at a wavelength of 872 cm-1.
