One of the main activities in coal mining at PT Bukit Asam Tbk is overburden. The layer of cover material of claystone and sandstone with a strength of 1.32 - 5.75 Mpa. Blasting operations are carried out first to optimize the productivity of the loading digger. There are several factors that become a benchmark for the success of a blasting including the fragmentation of blasting results, the loading time cycle of the digging tool, and the value of powder factor. Fragmentation of blasting results must be in accordance with the size of the bucket loading tool used, namely PC 2000 (12 m3 bucket capacity). Fragmentation criteria as a result of blasting the digging tool at PT. Bukit Asam Tbk with boulders measuring > 100 cm in diameter will cause a problem with the cycle time the digging tool becomes inefficient and the bucket is not fully loaded and will also affect the life of the tool. The research was conducted in the Townsite Basecamp. The mechanical device in the form of Sandvik D245S drilling machine, with the blasting geometry actual average applied is 7,5 meter burden, 7,7 meter spacing, 7.3 meter depth hole, powder charge 1,6 meter , 5,7 meter stemming, loading density 18,5 kg / m and powder factor of 0,073 kg / bcm (0.027 kg / ton). The results of the distribution of fragmentation resulting from blasting using Split Desktop, obtained an average boulders of 13,127%. Based on the average cycle time of the digging PC 2000, it’s obtained at 32,02 sec. The cycle time of the digging tool is efficient.. The factors that affect the performance of PC 2000 devices are due to the time waiting for the dump truck, the intensity of the road, the material is at the deadline for blasting and the distribution of fragmentation. Actual work efficiency is obtained at 82,64%. The actual productivity of the PC 2000 94770,16BCM / hour.
