STUDI PEMISAHAN BIJIH TIMAH HALUS (TIN ORE SEPARATION) DENGAN TEKNOLOGI MEJA ANGIN (AIR TABLE) SKALA LABORATORIUM
The tin ore processing process aims to separate the concentrate from the tailings. The aim is to increase the recovery and grade of the tin ore. In optimizing the processing of tin ore, the technology used still utilizes differences in mineral density (BJ), one method that utilizes this principle is an air table. Air table is a valuable mineral separator with mineral impurities based on differences in BJ, size and shape using air/wind media. This study aims to determine the process of processing fine tin ore on a laboratory scale and the performance of the tool, by varying the slope of the table, mineral weight and processing time to obtain soptimal grade and recovery. From the analysis of tin ore samples from Toboali, the average Sn content before processing was 0.99% Sn of the total sample weight of 30 kg. From the observation by microscopic test with grain counting analysis (GCA) method, the average size distribution is 50# and the mineral content includes cassiterite, ilmenite, monazite, zircon and quartz. Experimental results after processing with predetermined variables, produce levels that are inversely proportional to recovery. From the analysis, the highest recovery was obtained in the condition of the slope deck variable 5.8o, with a mineral weight of 600 gr and a processing time of 15 minutes worth 79.14% Sn. As for the grade obtained from the condition of the slope deck variation of 5.6o, mineral weight of 300 gr and processing time of 20 minutes worth 4.99% Sn. From the experimental results, it can be concluded that while the performance of the air table is good but not optimal, several components have performed well, some parameters still need to be optimized, such as: blower pressure and hole deck
