PENGARUH KOH TERHADAP KUALITAS SABUN CAIR DARI PKO (Palm Karnel Oil) DAN KARAKTERISASINYA
ABSTRACT : PKO (Palm Kernel Oil) can be used in the industrial sector as a basic ingredient for making soap. Based on this, this research was conducted to make liquid soap from PKO and its characterization based on SNI 4085-2017. Making liquid soap is done by reacting PKO oil, KOH, glycerin, ethanol, and jasmine extract fragrance which then produces liquid soap products. The liquid soap that has been made is continued with organoleptic tests, acidity tests, foam stability tests, water content tests, tests for total active ingredients and anti-bacterial tests using Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Based on the results of the characterization of liquid soap with variations (30, 40 and 50g) of KOH in 50 g of PKO oil, the texture is thick, smells of jasmine and is orange in color. Organoleptic test with the number of panelists who liked it based on 80% color, 68% texture and 64% aroma. based on the test (SNI 4085-2017) liquid soap with variants of 30, 40 and 50 g KOH, the results of the foam stability test were 77.27%, 77.11% and 79.16%, respectively. The total active ingredients obtained were 52.56%, 52.79% and 74.5%, respectively. The acidity tests were respectively 8.9, 93 and 10.1. The water content test was 1.05%, 1.16% and 1.23%, respectively. Anti-bacterial test against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria obtained OD values of -0.12, 0.127 and 0.246 ., respectively Keywords :liquid soap, PKO, KOH, Staphylococcus aureus, Organoleptic, Indonesian National Standard
