PENGARUH VARIASI KONSENTRASI BELERANG DAN MASSA BENTONIT-SiO2 SEBAGAI FILLER HIBRID TERHADAP KUALITAS KARET BUSA
Research on the manufacture of foam rubber has been carried out by varying the sulfur concentrations of 40, 50 and 60% and hybrid fillers 1,2,3,4 and 5 g bentonite-silica. This study aims to determine the best results from the influence of variations in sulfur concentration and mass of bentonite-silica hybrid filler based on test results including hardness, elongation at break and tensile stress then compared with the quality standard of latex foam type medium SNI 06- 0999-1989. Based on the quality standard of latex foam type medium, the best hardness of foam rubber was obtained with a hybrid filler mass of 2g and a sulfur concentration of 40% with a value of 28.6 kg. The best tensile strength for foam rubber was at 40% sulfur concentration and a hybrid filler mass of 2g with a value of 0.4 N/mm2 , did not meet the expected SNI 06-0999- 1989, the best elongation at break of foam rubber was obtained with a hybrid filler mass of 2g and a sulfur concentration of 40% with the best result being 490%.
