Has done characterization of Na-Bentonite and H-Bentonite with using FT-IR, SEM and XRD. Na-Bentonite and H-Bentonite the used as adsorbent malachite green. Results FT-IR analysis showed shift in the wave number of Na-Bentonite and H-Bentonit from 3380 cm-1 to 3396 cm-1 which has a sharper band shape. The results of SEM analysis showed that the surface of the bentonite before walking was still in the form of rough lumps, the modified bentonite showed a smoother surface. Na- Bentonite, H-Bentonite and H-Bentonite Applications of Malachite Green performed XRD characterization to determine the angle of 2θ and the value of the crystal size. The results of the XRD test characterization on Na-Bentonite showed a sharp peak at an angle of 2θ of 21.560 with a crystal size of 2.57 nm, then for H- Bentonite the sharp peak was located at an angle of 21.810 with a crystal size of 14.67 nm, the last for the peak sharp H-Bentonite The application is found at an angle of 21,870 with a crystal size of 4.89 nm. Na-Bentonite and H-Bentonite has a value of pHpzc at pH 5. The adsorption process of Malachite green uses various variations of time, mass, concentration and temperature variations as well as . In the time variation, the optimum time was obtained at the 25th minute with the adsorption percentage of 99.91%. In the mass variation, the optimum mass occurred at the addition of 0.5 g of bentonite with adsorption percent of 98.70% for modified bentonite and 84.01% for bentonite before modification. The Malachite green adsorption kinetics data is more in line with the pseudo second order model. The effect of concentration and temperature on the adsorption process of Malachite green is directly proportional, the greater the concentration and temperature, the greater the adsorption capacity.
