JOINT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT KFX/IFX INDONESIA-KOREA SELATAN DALAM PEMENUHAN KEBIJAKAN MINIMUM ESSENTIAL FORCE.
The uncertainty generated by the anarchic international system encourages every country in the world to continuously improve their capabilities in various fields. Security is the main goal of every country in the world, creating conditions that are prosperous and keep various threats away from its people. Indonesia, as a sovereign country, continues to strive for the security of its country in various ways, one of them is the KFX/IFX fighter jet collaboration project involving South Korea as a cooperation partner. This research will be examined in the perspective of neorealism, as well as the concept of defense cooperation by Kenneth Waltz who views the state as the main rational actor with various suspicions, thus limiting the cooperation carried out in the military or security sector and within a certain period of time. With a qualitative approach and using triangulation research techniques, this study concludes that Indonesia and South Korea have made efforts to achieve their national goals and interests in the KFX/IFX Joint Development Project, and have had a positive impact on Indonesia's Minimum Essential Force Alignment Policy in improving the quality and quantity of the Indonesian National Army as the national security guard.
