REPRESENTASI KECANTIKAN WANITA MELALUI VIDEO YOUTUBE (ANALISIS WACANA KRITIS PADA VIDEO WARDAH #BEAUTYMOVESYOU - BERGERAK MEMBAWA MANFAAT)
Women's beauty serves as one of the parts of some kind of a construction which is made by the industry and exposed by the media. Therefore, it is mandatory for them to always keep up with the beauty standard. This research aims to analyze how Wardah, as one of the most popular beauty products in Indonesia, represents women's beauty on Youtube as a medium of communication. This research uses critical discourse analysis by Norman Fairclough and representation theory by Stuart Hall. The data of this research is qualitative, which is obtained through secondary data based on observation and documentation. The research results show that Wardah conveys a misrepresentation of the concept of women’s beauty by combining it with social values that are in accordance with Wardah’s values. Its representation is actually a mere effort to increase the brand reputation and to promote the products.
