FRAKSINASI DAN UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI EKSTRAK ETANOL BUAH MENGKUDU (Morinda citrifolia L.) TERHADAP BAKTERI Klebsiella pneumoniae DAN Acinetobacter baumannii
Pneumonia is a lung inflammation that can be caused by infection of Gram-negative bacteria such as Klebsiella pneumoniae and Acinetobacter baumannii. Alternative treatment that can be taken apart from using antibiotics is by using medicinal plants as antibacterial agents, for example noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia L.). This research was carried out to investigate the antibacterial properties from extract ethanol and fractions of noni fruit against K. pneumoniae and A. baumannii. Noni fruit was extracted by maceration method using ethanol and then fractionated using Vacuum Liquid Chromatography (VLC). Antibacterial activity of ethanol extract and fractions of noni fruit were tested using disc diffusion method. Based on the antibacterial activity result, fraction A has highest antibacterial activity against K. pneumoniae and A. baumannii at concentration of 50.000 ppm with inhibitory diameter of 8.24±0.26 mm and 10.11±0.59 mm respectively. Fraction A was continued with determination of the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) test using microdilution method. The MIC value of fraction A at concentration of 1562.5 ppm showed the same value against two bacteria above. The result of the Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis showed that there were 2 compounds identified as major components of fraction A, 1-nonadecene and di(2-propylpentyl) phthalate.
