PENGARUH PERILAKU PHUBBING TERHADAP KUALITAS PERSAHABATAN MELALUI VARIABEL KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL (Studi Pada Generasi Z di Kota Palembang)
Phubbing behavior is an act of ignoring other people when interacting, because they prefer to focus on smartphones rather than the other person. This study aims to determine the effect of phubbing behavior on the quality of friendship through interpersonal communication variables in Generation Z in Palembang City. The sampling technique in this study used non-probability sampling with purposive sampling and obtained as many as 150 respondents, data collection in this study used questionnaires, documentation studies, and observations. The research method in this study uses quantitative methods with multiple linear regression design which is divided into 4 models, model I shows a significant value of t of 0.000 meaning that there is a significant direct effect of phubbing behavior on interpersonal communication, model II has a significant t value of 0.002 meaning that there is a significant direct effect of interpersonal communication on the quality of friendship, model III shows a significant t value of 0.435 meaning that there is no significant direct effect of phubbing behavior on the quality of friendship, and model IV shows a significant F value of 0.000 which means that there is an indirect effect of phubbing behavior on the quality of friendship through interpersonal communication.
