PENGARUH OBAT KUMUR DENGAN VARIASI KONSENTRASI ALKOHOL TERHADAP KEKUATAN TEKAN RESIN MODIFIED GLASS IONOMER CEMENT
Resin Modified Glass ionomer Cement (RMG1C) is a developed form of conventional glass ionomer cement. RMGIC has hydrophilic nature which can absorb the fluid in the oral cavity such as saliva and the fluidfrom outside of the oral cavity such as mouthrinses with various concentration of alcohol. One of important mechanical properties of RMGIC is compressive strength. The aim of this study w as to identify the effect of alcohol-containing mouthrinses with various consentrations on the compressive strength of RMGIC. The sample used in this study were thirty two cylindrical-shaped RMGIC with 4 mm in diameter and 6 mm in height were divided into four groups: group immersed in mouthrinses without alcohol (control), in mouthrinse with 9 % alcohol, 21,85% alcohol, and 26,75% alcohol-containing mouthrinses for 24 hours. Compressive strength was measured with Universal Testing Machine. The data were analyzed by One Way ANOVA and Post Hoc LSD. Mean compressive strength value (MPa) for group immersed in mouthrinses without alcohol (control) were 139,65 + 7,03; and for group immersed in mouthrinses with 9%, 21,85%, 26,75% alcohol were 122,42 ± 7,08, 132,04 ± 7,06, 114,78 ± 6,19 respectively. The results of One Way ANOVA and Post-Hoc showed significant difference among four groups (p
