Indonesia consists of various racial and ethnic, including Chinese and Arab. Each race and ethnic has a special characteristic that can b e used t o Identification. According t o craniofacial, dental arch form and head shape could b e the characteristic. The information about dental arch form and head shape of Chinese ethnic and Arab ethnic in Indonesia is still very lacking when both of it are important to known and used in orthodontic treatment consideration. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences of the dental arch form and head shape between Chinese ethnic and Arab ethnic in Palembang. This research was a comparative study of cross-sectional descriptive analytic conducted on fifty samples of Chinese ethnic group and fifty samples of Arab ethnic group. Sample's dental arch form viewed through model study using arch determination method and head shape was determined according to measurement of cephalic index.
