ABSTRACK EFFECT OF ZINC DIETHYLDITHIO CARBAMATE AND ELEPHANT GRASS (Pennisetum purpureum) ASH AS FILLER ON QUALITY OF FOAM RUBBER Cindy Maharani: Supervised by Dr. Zainal Fanani, M.Si and Dr. Bambang Yudono, M.Sc Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University xi + 50 pages +12 pictures + 7 tables + 6 attachments Research on the Effect of Zink Diethyldithio Carbamate (ZDEC) with ash of elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) ash as filler on the quality of foam rubber. The purpose of this research is to determined the effect of Zinc Diethyldithio Carbamate (ZDEC) and elephant grass ash for the best quality foam rubber as the parameters of ZDEC concentration parameters of 40, 50 and 60%, and variations of elephant grass ash used was 0.5, 0.75 and 1g. The best result of ZDEC concentration was obtained at elephant grass ash 50 % concentration with elongation break values at 160 % , breaking stress value at treatment 10.71 N/mm², the hardness value obtained at 29 kg. While in the amount of elephant grass of 0.5 g, it was obtained the elongation break at 110 %, the breaking stress value of 10.19 N/mm², the hardness value of 32 kg. the results obtained have met The SNI 06-0999-1989 standard type of medium.
