PENGARUH WAKTU MILLING DAN PENGGUNAAN PCA (PROCESS CONTROL AGENT) TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK KATALIS Cu2O-ZnO/C UNTUK PEMBUATAN MEA
SUMMARY THE EFFECT OF MILLING TIME AND USE OF PCA (PROCESS CONTROL AGENT) ON CATALYST CHARACTERISTICS OF Cu2O-ZnO/C FOR MEA PRODUCTION Resti Wulandari: Supervised by Dr. Dedi Rohendi, M.T and Dr. Nirwan Sharif, M.Sc. Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University xii + 66 pages, 11 pictures, 8 appendices Research on the effect of milling and the use of PCA (process control agent) on the characteristics of the Cu2O-ZnO/C catalyst has been carried out. The purpose of this research is to obtain effective and efficient electrodes that can be used for the manufacture of MEA. In this study, variations in milling and the effect of using PCA were carried out to make Cu2O-ZnO/C catalysts. The time variations were 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours with and without the addition of PCA. Each of these catalysts was used to make electrodes and then the electrodes were characterized using Cyclic Voltammetry (CV), Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), SEM-EDX, Particle Size Analyzer (PSA) and Brunauer Emmett Teller (BET) methods. Cyclic Voltammetry measurement results obtained the best ECSA value at milling time of 3 hours with the addition of PCA of 689.77 cm2/g. The results of the Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) measurement showed that the best conductivity value at milling time of 2 hours without the addition of PCA was 0.62 x 10-3 S/cm. The results of the SEM-EDX measurement showed that the best electrode was milled at 3 hours with the addition of PCA because it had the highest Cu content of 18.13 wt%. The results of the Particle Size Analyzer (PSA) measurement obtained the best electrode at a milling time of 3 hours without the addition of PCA because it produces a small particle size. The results of characterization measurements using BET obtained the best catalyst powder at a milling time of 3 hours with the addition of PCA with a pore diameter of 127 . The smaller the pore diameter, the greater the surface area of the catalyst which has an impact on the better catalyst performance.
