UPAYA PEMERINTAH PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN DALAM HILIRISASI KELAPA BULAT (COCONUT) DAN PRODUK TURUNANNYA.
Coconut is a plantation commodity that has high economic value in its development and processing. In this case, South Sumatra is one of the coconut production centers in Indonesia which has the potential to develop coconut commodities. Downstream is the answer to how an area can get better economic benefits through trading activities, especially areas that have natural resources. This study aims to analyze the efforts of the South Sumatran provincial government in downstream of coconut and its derivative products and chaining the value of the South Sumatran coconut industry. The researcher uses the Global Value Chain theory to help analyze the efforts made by the South Sumatra provincial government in coconut downstream. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The data collected in the form of primary data through interviews and secondary data obtained from written sources. The results showed that the efforts made by the South Sumatra provincial government in downstream of coconut and its derivative products were not optimal and there still ineffectiveness in the coconut trade chain in South Sumatra Province.
