Defense Industry Cooperation between Turkey and Indonesia has been started since 2010 through a Memerandum of Understanding (MoU) which aims to improve bilateral relations between the two countries. The victory of the AKP (Adelete Ve Kankinma Partisi) party in 2002 has turned Turkey into a new power, where President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's national manifesto wants to make Turkey a world power and fulfill the defense equipment needs 100 percent independently. In the manifesto, Turkey focuses itself over the next 5 years on domestic military production and uses an independent foreign policy as well as focusing on securing its borders. In addition, Turkey's foreign policy has evolved from previously leaning towards the West to the MENA region and Asia. The change in Turkey's vision that is oriented towards Asia and establishing cooperative relations with Indonesia has a background of national interest. Therefore, this study is to determine Turkey's national interest in defense industry cooperationwith Indonesia. This study uses the concept of national interest according to Donald E. Nuchterlain. In this research, the writer uses a qualitative method using descriptive data, namely written words or data orally or through interviews. The results of this study indicate that Turkey's national interest in the defense industry cooperation relationship with Indonesia is to achieve its country's national manifesto, by seeing Indonesia as a strategic country to be able to achieve its national interests. This study sees that Turkey's national interest focuses on the interests of defense, economy, world order, and ideology. Keywords : Defence Industry Cooperation, Indonesia, National Interest, Turkey
