Low self-esteem is one of the causes of problems faced by adolescents, especially those who are undergoing punishment. Compared to ordinary teenagers, juvenile prisoners can decrease their self-esteem when criticized by others, feel hopeless, feel inadequate and low self-esteem. Interventions applied in increasing self-esteem with positive affirmation therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of positive affirmation therapy on the self-esteem of juvenile inmates at the Class 1 Palembang Special Child Development Institute. This research is a quantitative research with a pre-experimental method, with a research design of one group pretest posttest design. The sample in this study amounted to 17 respondents who were taken using purposive sampling technique. Collecting data obtained from respondents using a self-esteem questionnaire Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale. To see the difference in the level of self-esteem before and after intervention, it was analyzed using the paired t-test and obtained a p-value
