On April 1, 2021, the Government of Indonesia through the Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 18 of 2021 set a policy of banning the export of Konjac seeds, with the aim that other countries do not take greater profits from Indonesian Konjac and encourage an increase in the competitive value of Indonesian Konjac products in the global market. This study aims to analyze whether the strategy of the Government of Indonesia through the Minister of Trade Regulation no. 18 of 2021 is the right strategy and is able to provide competitive value for Indonesian Konjac products in the global market. This research problem will be studied through Porter's Diamond Model in Michael Porter's Theory of Competitive Advantage to see how the competitive position of Indonesian Konjac products is in the global market. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach. By using primary data through interviews from the Directorate General of IKMA of the Ministry of Industry and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade as well as secondary data through literature studies from various credible and relevant sources. The results of this study indicate that the Regulation of the Minister of Trade No. 18 of 2021 is the right strategy for the Government of Indonesia. Through this policy, Indonesian Konjac products have increased their competitive value. However, when compared to other countries, the position of Indonesian Konjac products is still less competitive in the global market because two of the four Porter's Diamond Model indicators has not shown ideal conditions.
