This research is entitled "Effectiveness of Budget Execution of Public Service Supervision Program at Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia Representative of South Sumatra". This research is motivated by the decrease in budget effectiveness in the use of the 2020 public service supervision program budget by 3.51% when compared to the previous year, even though the budget of the public service supervision program in 2020 is Rp. 449,776,000.00 less when compared to 2019. Therefore, this study aims to determine the cause of the decrease in effectiveness in the implementation of the budget for the public service supervision program at Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia Representative of South Sumatra in 2020. The theory used is the concept proposed by Mahmudi. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, using primary and secondary data sources, data collection techniques through interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the cause of the decrease in effectiveness in the implementation of the budget for the public service supervision program at the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia Representative of South Sumatra in 2020 is because of the limited space to carry out supervisory activities, lack of infrastructure and human resources that happened during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research suggests to increase the number of assistants in the implementation of the public service supervision program, as well as to add infrastructure or facilities to support activities to increase the effectiveness of budget execution of public service supervision program at Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia representative of South Sumatra.
