Background: Problems Rheumatoid Arthritis in the elderly in Indonesia occurs as much as 67.4% making it the most common problem because it affects mobility and activities which are vital for the total health of the elderly. Activity factor is the highest factor causing rheumatoid arthritis arthritis that is equal to 38.5%. The cause of the unsuccessful treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in the elderly is due to lack of the patient's knowledge about the basic nature of the disease and how to handle it so that non-pharmacological alternative treatments are needed that are cheap and easy to apply by the elderly. Purpose: The purpose of this scientific work is to be able to provide gerontic nursing care for the elderly with rheumatoid arthritis with the main problem of acute pain nursing with treatment using warm ginger water compress therapy. Method: The method used in this scientific paper is a case study approach using an analysis of ten journals that match the criteria desired by the author from Google Scholar, National Library of Indonesia and other national-international indexed journals. Results: in the elderly Head to toe, starting from assessment, nursing diagnosis with the main problem of acute pain, nursing interventions and implementation were carried out based on a journal review, namely giving warm ginger water compresses, the evaluation showed that there was a decrease in the pain scale in the joints after being carried out. compress warm ginger water for six days with a duration of 1 compress 10-15 minutes every morning and evening. Conclusion: The warm ginger compress that is given has an effect on reducing the pain scale in the elderly suffering from rheumatoid arthritis arthritis.
