This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online registration of Social Welfare Institutions (LKS) in Palembang City (Study at the Social Service Office of South Sumatra Province). The background of this research is the finding of ineffectiveness problems in online LKS registration at the Social Service of South Sumatra Province. The approach used in this research is qualitative with descriptive method. The techniques used in data collection are interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out by data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions/verification. The focus of the research used in this study uses the effectiveness theory approach of Martani and Lubis which consists of three aspects, namely the Source Approach, Process Approach, and Target Approach. The results showed that online LKS registration in Palembang City (Study at the Social Service of South Sumatra Province) had not been effective. This is due to the lack of human resources (employees) who manage online LKS registration, limited facilities and infrastructure, not optimal socialization, limited funds, the online LKS website is still constrained by errors or server down, lack of understanding from LKS regarding application online registration, and the realization of the number of online registrants has not reached the expected target or target, which tends to decrease from 2016-2020. The results of the study suggest that online LKS registration is necessary, namely: (1) guidance and training from the Ministry of Social Affairs to employees, (2) addition of facilities and infrastructure, (3) socialization and assistance from agencies to LKS as a whole and (4) repairs to website errors . Keywords: Effectiveness, Online Registration, Social Welfare Institutions
