This research was motivated by the phenomenon of the Covid-19 virus outbreak that spread massively in the community, impacting various social and economic sectors of society. This study aims to analyze the communication strategy used by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Ogan Ilir Regency in handling Covid-19. The research method used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The data analysis technique used is interactive model. The findings of this study indicate the implementation of communication strategies as seen from the Communicator Strategy, Audience Strategy and Media Selection Strategy, in which the Regional Disaster Management Agency of Ogan Ilir Regency implements these strategies in handling Covid-19 in Ogan Ilir, so that it has a good impact in suppressing the number of positive Covid cases. -19 at Ogan Ilir. However, in its implementation there are still a few shortcomings carried out by the Regional Disaster Management Agency of Ogan Ilir Regency, namely the uneven message coverage to remote areas due to limited human resources and only relying on the media as an extension of information from the government. Based on the research that has been carried out, the implementation of communication strategies in handling Covid-19 has been carried out by the Disaster Management Agency of Ogan Ilir Regency and has had a positive impact on the community.
