DIFUSI INOVASI PEMANFAATAN APLIKASI GIWANG PADA DINAS KEBUDAYAAN DAN PARIWISATA PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
The Giwang application is an innovation initiated by the Culture and Tourism Office of South Sumatra Province, which is a form of technology utilization in the field of tourism culture that has been launched and communicated massively in the South Sumatra region. However, in its implementation, there are several problems, namely the low number of users which is not proportional to the number of internet users and the socialization efforts that have been carried out. This study aims to determine the diffusion process of innovation using the Giwang application at the Department of Culture and Tourism of South Sumatra Province in terms of 4 important elements of Everett M. Rogers, namely innovation, communication channels, time period and social system. The results of the study show that 1) Giwang application innovation is considered as a new thing 2) The communication channel used is interpersonal communication media and mass communication media 3) The time period required for adopters goes through the stages of knowledge, persuasion, decision, implementation and affirmation and there are 2 innovator, 1 early adopter, 1 early majority, and 1 late majority 4) The social structure involved uses the Penta Helix concept and the type of innovation decision is carried out contingently.
