Social media is used to convey messages from communicators to audiences but in this era of increasingly advanced technological developments, the use of social media is not only for communicating but can also be used as a medium for meeting information needs. Just like the National Narcotics Agency of South Sumatra Province which uses Instagram social media in meeting Followers' information needs regarding the dangers of drugs and P4GN. The purpose of this study is to find out how the Effectiveness of @infobnn_prov_sumsel Instagram Accounts Towards Meeting Followers’ Information Needs regarding the Dangers of Drugs and P4GN. In this study, there are two variables, namely the independent variable (X) of Instagram effectiveness and the dependent variable (Y), namely the fulfilment of information needs. This research uses 4C theory as a theory used to measure independent variables, where in 4C theory there are 4 dimensions, namely Context, Communication, Collaboration (Cooperation), Connection (Relationship). While the theory used to measure dependent variables is the theory of the approach to the information needs of social media users which has 4 dimensions, namely the Current need approach, Everyday need approach, Exhaust need approach, Catching-up need approach. The method used in writing this thesis is a quantitative method with descriptive analysis techniques using a simple linear regression test. Data collection is carried out by distributing questionnaires through the DM (Direct Message) feature found in the Instagram application to Followers of @infobnn_prov_sumsel Instagram account. Based on the analysis of the Coefficient of Determination R2 resulted in a contribution from the variable Instagram Account Effectiveness (X) to the Fulfilment of Followers' Information Needs regarding the Dangers of Drugs and P4GN, which was 4.6%, while the calculated value thitung was 2.154, then 2.154>1.985 which means that there is an effectiveness of the Instagram account @infobnn_prov_sumsel (X) to meet the information needs of Followers regarding the dangers of drugs and P4GN (Y).
