PENGARUH BERKUMUR LARUTAN TEH HIJAU TERHADAP pH SALIVA PADA ANAK USIA 8-10 TAHUN
Green tea contains various component of compounds that can inhibit the formation of caries. Catechins contained in tea have anti-streptococcal activity that can inhibit growth and kill Streptococcus mutans. Bacterium Streptococcus mutans within the oral cavity will cause changes in the oral acidity. The increasing of Mutans streptococcus bacteria amounts in the oral cavity will reducce the pH, otherwise decreasing Mutans streptococcus bacteria amounts in the oral cavity will cause the p H rised. The p H of saliva can change at any time, decreasing the p H of saliva will facilitate the growth of germs asidogenik. The purpose of this study is to determine the ejfect of green tea solution rinsing to the pH of saliva in children aged 8-10 years. This type of research is quasi experimental with pretest - posttest design with control group. Subjects consisted of 60 children, divided into 4 groups, respectively - each consisting of groups of distilled water rinse, rinse group 2.5% solution of green tea, gargling group 5% solution ofgreen tea and green tea solution rinse group 7.5%.
