This thesis is entitled Legal Protection Against Narcotics Crime Reporters in the South Sumatra Regional Police. The formulation of the problem raised by the author is how to protect the law against Narcotics Crime Reporters in the South Sumatra Regional Police and how to overcome obstacles in the South Sumatra Regional Police regarding legal protection for Narcotics Crime Reporters. Writing this thesis is a type of research that uses empirical legal research methods, namely by observing and observing what is happening in the field and the application of regulations in practice in society. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis method, which was to describe the data that had been collected in structured sentences and correlated systematically in drawing conclusions to answer the problems in this study. The results of this study indicate that legal protection for the reporter of Narcotics Crime in the Regional Police of South Sumatra is by keeping the name and identity of the reporter secret, physical and psychological protection, protection of legal status, fulfillment of procedural rights of the reporter, and awards. Then efforts to overcome obstacles in the South Sumatra Regional Police regarding the protection of Narcotics Crime Reporters are by taking preventive measures to avoid security disturbances, conducting socialization (Preventive efforts) and taking action by providing a sense of security, protection of property, the existence of the My Police application, Protection and hotline 148 (Refresive efforts).
