The method used in this study is semi detailed level survey. The map used is with scale 1: 50,000. Soil sampling using the system path or grid with the distance between point of 150 m x 150 m. The total point of boring of 18 points with a total area of 50 ha. Soil observations in the field conducted through the soil profile to a dept of 120 cm. Soil samples taken for analysis in the laboratory is taken to a depth of30 cm. The results of research showed that, drainage condition in the location is some what poor or moderately suitable for acacia. The thickness of peat is more than 600 cm. It is not suitable for acacia. According to information from the company, the depth of 0 — 16 is fibric. Then up to 650 cm is hemic. The condition of peat like this is not suitable for Acacia or other plant, but suitable for forest. Soil pH on peat soil is very acid, it ranged ffom 3.07 - 3.99. Overall the study area are not suitable (N-r) for acacia because limited by depth of peat. The aims of this study is to evaluate the land suitability of Acacia plantation in the area of district PT.
