PERAN PEMERINTAH KOREA SELATAN DALAM PENGEMBANGAN PARIWISATA BEDAH PLASTIK
The relationship between plastic surgery as a medical and tourism industry has a different classification before 1990s. After globalization, soon every part of human beings can be comertialism. Plastic surgery legalize as a part of tourism industry since South Korea President Lee-Myung Bak declare that medical Korea as a tourism will become vision and mission Korea in 2014. Since that, the Korea government put a high role to bring million medical tourist to Korea. Taking advantage of hallyu that has previously influenced people in the trend of Korean celebrity natural beauty through plastic surgery. This research uses Two Approach Concept of International Theory, that is: 1.) international tourism; dan 2.) commercial diplomacy to undertood how the phenomena begin, and what brought the success of the South Korean government in making the Korean plastic surgery industry known in the world and become the top decisions tourist choose to get a plastic surgery. The result of this research proves Korea Government success to drive at least 7,500 tourisf to South Korea for medical purposes, and generate around US$ 5 trilion in periods 2015 – 2020, because of several role of the government, that is: 1.) commercial diplomacy; 2.) cooperating with many countries such as China dan Middle East; 3.) legality of the plastic surgery industry; 4.) severe laws that support medical tourist activities; and 5.) insurance scheme for foreign patient. Based on research data the role of the government in promotion is the key to this success, and among all, the most important influencing the world community to choose Korea for medical is their belief that Korea has excellence medical technology equivalent to international standards, including PET MR1, Proton Therapy, Davinci Robot, Non-Nvasid Laser, and Invasive Laser.
