The focus of this research is on the use of social capital by the community in the revitalization of slum areas by looking at the forms of social capital used by the community and the benefits of social capital in the revitalization of slum areas in Kampung Sayur Cempako. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data collection method consisted of observation, interviews with ten purposively determined informants, and documentation. This study was analyzed using the social capital theory by Nan Lin. The results showed that the forms of social capital used by the community in the revitalization of slum areas in Kampung Sayur Cempako consisted of: (1) cooperation in cleaning the environment and planting and caring for vegetables, (2) norms in the form of obligations to protect the environment and prohibition of littering, (3) network on product marketing through online media, and establish cooperation with stakeholders, (4) trust in the sales revenue sharing system, (5) reciprocity in the form of exchanging vegetables between communities and branding of stakeholder names, (6) community proactive actions in the form of a willingness to continue to learn independently about how to grow and care for vegetables and participate in empowerment programs. This form of social capital provides benefits for the community in carrying out revitalization activities in the form of helping to raise public awareness and overcoming various obstacles in revitalization activities which include funding and land constraints, different public perceptions, and limited knowledge.
