Persuasive Communication Strategy is planning the communication process aimed at influencing others to agree with the speaker. Effective communication is communication in which it contains messages that are easy to understand so as to encourage the communicant to provide feedback and change the attitude of the parties involved. Persuasive communication can occur anywhere, such as at the Palembang Class 1 Special Child Development Institute. The research conducted is limited to persuasive communication between correctional officers and inmates, especially in the implementation of coaching tasks in special prisons for grade 1 children in Palembang. Andikpas, Provide guidance, Carry out maintenance of security and order. This research is assisted by using the theory of attitude change from Carl Hovland by using 2 dimensions, namely, internal factors and external factors. Where the change in attitude of Andikpas in carrying out a persuasive communication strategy is seen from the perspective of the theory of attitude change. The results of this study indicate that persuasive communication by officers aims to change attitudes for the better. There are many obstacles or obstacles in carrying out such persuasive communication, both from the officers, as well as within the correctional students themselves. For this reason, it is necessary to take part from the government, correctional officers and themselves to achieve the goal of changing the attitude of andikpas in the cases they face
