This research is entitled " Participation of Women Members of the Regional People's Representative Council Palembang City in the Discussion of the Draft Regional Regulation Initiative on the Protection of Women from Violence . The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using a case study approach . The data collection technique was carried out in three stages , namely observation , in - depth interviews , and documentation . The data collected were analyzed using the theory of Political Participation . There were seven informants sdy who were obtained by purposive technique . The results of this study indicate that the participation of female legislators in the discussion of the regional regulation draft ( Raperda ) of Palembang City is considered ac tive , seen from the success of the Regional Council of Representatives in forming a policy that is able to create a legal umbrella to accommodate women's interests . The obstacles that occurred during the discussion of the draft regulation were due to the lack of references that discussed the protection of women from acts of violence . This is why the draft regional regulation takes a long time to be ratified . Keywords : Women's Participation , Regional People's Representative Council , Draft Regional Regulation
