SUMMARY UTILIZATION OF MANGROVE TOURISM AS FISHERS ADAPTATION STRATEGY IN FACING CLIMATE CHANGE IN SEJAHTERA VILLAGE WARD OF SUMBER JAYA BENGKULU CITY The tittle of this final thesis is “Utilization of Mangrove Tourism as Fishers Adaptation Strategy in Facing Climate Change in Sejahtera Village, Ward of Sumber Jaya, Bengkulu City”. This research talks about the climate change that influences earnings of the fishers, so it is difficult for them to fulfill their daily needs. The strategy that can be used by the fishers in this case is by finding another kind of job to make sure they can afford their life necessities, and this strategy is done by utilizing the mangrove tourism around their settlement. The purpose of this research is to understand the utilization of mangrove tourism sector as the adaptive strategy that can help the fishers in facing climate change in Sejahtera Village, Ward of Sumber Jaya, Bengkulu City. The methodology used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a descriptive research strategy. The data collection is done by observation, deep interview with 14 informants, documentation and literature review, and finally it is analyzed by using the theory of adaptation by Jhon William Bennett. The result of this research shows that the activity done by the fishers in mangrove tourism area is utilizing the sightseeing boats, being a third-seller of sightseeing boats ticket, selling some foods, drinks, and some accessories, providing a photo background rent, and providing the parking lots. To make sure that they have many people visiting this mangrove tourism, they have a marketing strategy by promoting the tourism sector and offering facilities and infrastructures with affordable price. Through this mangrove tourism, there are some positive impacts that happen to the fishers started from a higher income, the environment is getting cleaner and safer, and the improvement of health condition of the fishers of Sejahtera Village.
