This thesis is entitled Comparative Study Transfer of Rights Between Plant Variety Protection and Copyright. The formulation of the problem raised by the author is how the comparison between the transfer of plant variety protection rights and copyright and what is the basis for the need for a notary deed in the transfer of intellectual property. Writing this thesis is a type of research that uses normative research methods where research is carried out by reviewing, studying, and examining existing legal materials. The data analysis technique used qualitative methods. The results of this study show a comparison of the transfer of PVP rights and Copyright in principle, each intellectual property can be transferred by way of inheritance, grants, wills and agreements, but in terms of plant varieties and copyright, several differences can be seen, namely copyright can be changed. waqf while in PVP the difference is more prominent, namely the agreement must be in the form of a notary deed because it can better guarantee and can better protect the parties and the basis for the importance of a notary deed in the transfer of intellectual property rights is to create legal certainty and can be used as evidence that perfect when a dispute arises. Therefore, the use of a notarial deed is necessary and any transfer of intellectual property rights should use a notarial deed.
