Gingivitis is inflammation of gingiva, a common periodontal disease that found in Indonesian elementary school student. Gingivitis is caused by bacterial irritation in dental plaque. Gingivitis in elementary school student could be prevented by keeping the oral hygiene, one of the way is through Usaha Kesehatan Gigi Sekolah (UKGS) program. This study was conducted to assess the relationship between UKGS and student’s gingival health. Type of this study is observational analytic with cross sectional study design. The manner of samples taking is purposive sampling technique with amount of samples are 140 students. Divided into two groups, students who have been joining UKGS and the students who have not been joining UKGS.Both of them done OHIS and GI inspection. Value of probabilities of this research is 0,000 for OHIS and 0,028 for GI, it means there is relation between UKGS and elementary school student’s gingival health. UKGS implementation in elementary school has been proofed increasing the student’s gingival health.
