HUBUNGAN KEBERSIHAN MULUT DENGAN EPULIS GRAVIDARUM PADA IBU HAMIL DI POLI KANDUNGAN INSTALASI RAWAT JALAN RUMAH SAKIT MYRIA PALEMBANG
Pregnancy can cause changes in gingival', such as gingivitis and epulis gravidarum. These changes are influenced by changes in the hormonal and vascular factors in conjunction with local irritation in the mouth that is caused by plaque bacteria. No changes will occur in the gingiva during pregnancy when there is no cause of these local factors. This study aims to look at the relationship between oral hygiene with the incidence of epulis gravidarum in pregnant women. Cross sectional study was carried out in obstetrical and gynecological polyclinics RS Myria Palembang on January I0fh until January 24th 2012. This study used cross sectional design with 73 samples of pregnant women who done examination in obstetrical and gynecological polyclinics. Each sample conducted intraoral examination to see the level of oral hygiene and see whether or not epulis. In this study shown that the frequency of epulis gravidarum in pregnant women was 2.73% with a mean OHI bad.
