This study is entitled Implementation of Tourism Implementation Policies in Preserving Culture During the Covid-19 Pandemic by the Culture and Tourism Office of South Sumatra Province. The delay of some activities, a lack of public awareness of the importance of preserving culture, and limited socialization about tourism activities during the covid-19 pandemic encourage the implementation of this study. This study aims to identify the implementation of the tourism implementation policy in preserving culture during the covid-19 pandemic. This study used qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected by interviews and documentation as well as observations. The theory of public policy implementation referred to George C. Edward III. The results of the study showed that the implementation of tourism implementation policies in preserving culture during the covid-19 pandemic by the Culture and Tourism Office of South Sumatra Province worked well although there were some obstacles in its implementation. Some activities were not realized due to their potential to gather many people. There were different arguments in the implementation of activities held during the covid-19 pandemic because the funds that would be used were allocated for covid-19 assistance. Besides, the target of this policy still does not cover the wider community. Human resources in supporting the existence of this policy were not sufficient because the capacity did not meet the required standards. Even, SOPs in the implementation of tourism implementation policies were not effective. However, the effort made have been quite good as evidenced by the attitude of the implementers and the commitment in carrying out the tourism implementation policies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
