Background: Covid-19 at the time became a world health problem, including in Indonesia. Many preventive measures have been taken to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The spread of Covid-19 can be transmitted by direct contact, to prevent transmission it can be done by increasing the degree of health by one of them improving good personal hygiene. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between personal hygiene practices and Covid-19 cases in Timbangan Village, North Indralaya District. Methods: this study uses a quantitative method using a case control design. The sample in this study amounted to 64 respondents. The sampling technique in this study was simple random sampling. Results: show that of the 32 respondents in the case group there were 28.1% of respondents who had poor personal hygiene practices, while 71.9% had good personal hygiene practices. Variables related to the Covid-19 case were personal hygiene practices (P=0.047), hand washing personal hygiene practices (P=0.000), eye personal hygiene practices (P=0.045), clothing personal hygiene practices (P=0.000) ), are personal hygiene practices of hands, nails and feet (P=0.001), gender (P=0.045), education level (P=0.001), occupation (P=0.012), and income (P=0.002). Conclusion: The practice of personal hygiene affects Covid-19 cases, because it is recommended to the public to improve their health status, especially to the practice of personal hygiene or personal hygiene in an effort to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.
