RSUD HAMBA is the government referral hospital and the most visited in Batanghari where the services provided produce Hazardous and Toxic Waste and its management carried out with the protection of officers, reduction, segregation, storage, transportation, and processing. The purpose of this study was to analyze hazardous waste management at HAMBA Hospital, Batanghari, Jambi in 2021. The study used qualitative methods, data were collected from in-depth interviews, observation and document review and analyzed descriptively. Validity test was conducted through triangulation of data, triangulation of methods, and triangulation of sources. There were 24 informants, namely hazardous waste management officers, health workers, Head of the Hazardous Waste Management Section at Batanghari Regency Environmental Service and the person in charge of hazardous waste at HAMBA Hospital. The results showed that there were deficiencies in the management of hazardous waste, namely the unavailability of hand soap, antiseptic, tetanus immunization, routine medical examinations, additional food assistance, disinfection of trash cans, logos on yellow plastic bag and special routes for internal transportation, hazardous waste that is not immediately disposed, facilities on the TPS has not been cleaned every day, the bags are tied with rabbit ties and overfilled, the lid of the trolleys are broken, incinerator is overworked, and pathological waste has not been buried. It was concluded that the hazardous waste management at HAMBA Hospital had not been implemented optimally, so it was recommended to improve it according to the applicable regulations.
